Dr. Alireza Zakani, the elected mayor of Tehran, defends his plan for the municipality in front of the council: From combined development in public transportation to turning Tehran into a productive and dynamic factory

According to the Shahr correspondent, Dr. Alireza Zakani, the elected mayor of Tehran, attended the second session of the sixth term of the Islamic Council of Tehran and presented his program.
At the beginning of his speech, Zakani said: "I thank all those who were as members of the city council and mayor of Tehran in previous years, especially Mr. Hanachi, and I also thank Mr. Alireza Javid, who took charge of the municipality during the transition period."
In the following, Zakani explained his plan and said: "What is considered in the Islamic city with the right view is justice in the distribution of services, providing peace of mind, development, preservation of environment, and all these should be considered because these issues are also the words of the Supreme Leader of the Revolution, and we should all work together and take the necessary measures in the city so that Tehran to be a model for the Islamic world.
Expressing that a transformational approach is necessary in Tehran, he said: "We are trying to use from the capacities of technology and intelligence in Tehran Municipality and to proceeding with unity of opinion and coherence of work."
Alireza Zakani emphasized: In order to realize of the goals, we need all people to participate in the arenas to creating a great and physical change.
He added: "We must turn all cities, including Tehran, into a productive, dynamic, active and lively factory and from the right path to a worthy and participatory governance. Of course, the facilities and requirements of the country are also limited, and therefore we need facilities, and we create these opportunities with the participation of the people and the capital of the people and a context for mutual benefit. Therefore, the basis of our work is service, progress and development.
Alireza Zakani explained eight components in his program and said: discussion of urban justice and re-creating of public trust, urban tranquility, urban culture and Iranian-Islamic identity, science and technology in urban management, citizen participation and intermediate links of physical development and urban economy and Tehran's international role-playing is our goal and purpose.
The elected mayor of Tehran added: "We need a serious movement in urban culture by looking at the Iranian-Islamic culture, and this is what distinguishes us from other periods of the municipality."
The elected mayor of Tehran added: "The impact that Tehran can have on the whole country is unprecedented, and if we organize transportation in the city of Tehran and solve the housing problem, and if we promote human interactions, Tehran will be the pioneer of these developments throughout the country and it will become a model for other cities.
